BERNHARDT ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT REALIGNMENTS

February 14, 2012 LENOIR, NC – Announcement was made today of management realignments at Bernhardt Furniture Co. in Lenoir, N C. G. Alex Bernhardt, Sr, stated that, effective March 1, 2012, he would assume the title of Chairman and that Alex Bernhardt, Jr, would become President and Chief Executive Officer. He said that Rountree Collett would assume the new position of corporate Chief Operating Officer in addition to his ongoing responsibilities as President of Bernhardt Ventures. Anne Bernhardt will continue to serve as Vice Chairman of the corporation, and William Collett will join the board of directors in addition to his existing duties.

Bernhardt stated "I announced in May, 2009, that the older members of senior management would stay involved but be less active in daily management of the company. While neither Anne nor I will be retiring yet, it is time to recognize the leadership roles that these younger executives are already filling so ably."

Bernhardt Furniture Company, headquartered in Lenoir, N.C., was founded in 1889, and is still privately owned by the founding family. The company employs approximately 1,000 associates at its seven facilities in North Carolina and its five Asian offices. It offers fine furniture for the residential, contract and hospitality industries.
